Polydioxanone (PDO) Thread Lifts
What Is A PDO Thread Lift?
A thread lift is an alternative to a surgical facelift or filler treatments for lifting and tightening loose, saggy skin. Thread lifts stimulate rejuvenation in facial tissues, gradually improving skin tone and firmness. They last longer than fillers but have a much shorter recovery time than traditional facelifts, as well as almost zero risks of scarring or other complications.
How Do PDO Thread Lifts Work?
For a thread lift, a local anesthetic is first administered and temporary sutures are placed within or just under the skin to strategically lift sagging skin. These sutures are made of FDA approved materials that dissolve after several months. While they are in place, the sutures provoke the body’s natural healing response and cause surges of collagen to the area, keeping the skin strong and supple.
Are You A Candidate For A PDO Thread Lift?
PDO thread lifts are ideal for patients between their late thirties and early fifties, and the results last between one to three years. Older patients may benefit more and longer from a traditional facelift, but thread lifts are so low-risk that they are still a great 500 option.
